Following discussions with the various teams involved, Ubika Media prepared a requirements specification and carried out a comparative study of the available options using a representative corpus of the different video formats produced by CFRT, including a benchmark of H.264 and H.265 codecs.

The study made it possible to define the target format and then implement the appropriate FFmpeg parameters for the various source types — digitised material, live recordings and Avid editing — and destination uses, including editing, DVD production and distribution to partners.

Ubika Media also trained the relevant teams in the use of the new format.
